I founded and am leading as the President of Vocaloid Society until September 2026, a culture and music appreciation society focused on vocal synthesis technology, the largest student community of its kind in the UK.

In the 2025-26 academic year, I led a committee of 5 who were a great help with in-person event setup, but I was practically responsible for everything outside of event risk assessments (which I did up until September). I'm currently in charge of planning/organising events (including collaborations), managing an active social media presence of 1,000+ followers across English and Chinese platforms, including a Discord community of 350+ members, and a YouTube channel that has accumulated 10k+ views; I'm responsible for almost all of the society posters/graphics on Instagram, as well as some of the illustrations.

I also established external partnerships with vocal synthesis industry professionals, for example, by hosting a talk with Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. employee Yuka Wong, and facilitated national media exposure through coverage on the NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation)'s documentary NEO-JAPONISM, on the episode J-POP: Vocaloid Goes Global (link accessible until July 5, 2026), broadcasted in Japan and internationally.

UK university-wide Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! tournament, hosted under KCL Vocaloid Society. Special thanks to Warwick Vocaloid Society for handling technical aspects of the livestream (specifically Rohan T. for designing the stream interface and Wilson F. for designing the tournament format), and the unofficial Imperial Rhythm Games Society/City, University of London's Gacha Society for assisting with the event as co-hosts.

Project Sekai is a rhythm game that features Vocaloid songs (Japanese pop/rock songs made using voice synthesiser softwares), which can be played using a phone or tablet. This tournament consisted of two rounds – one preliminary round held online on Discord, and the final round, held in person at B5 Auditorium, King's College London Waterloo Campus (capacity 300), which the top 16 players of the preliminary online round advanced into.

The final round was open to spectators from any and all universities and featured three performances, with prizes awarded to the best three players at the very end. It was also streamed online, with the YouTube livestream gaining 1000 views in real time.

KCL Vocaloid Society and KCL Anime & Manga Society collaborated together to bring in a non-profit dance showcase event at KCL Strand Campus's Great Hall, that featured 11 acts active in the anime fandom/underground idol scene, as well as a photo booth for attendees to take pictures in after the event.

All income generated was used to cover costs and to reimburse the main photographer Gavin Xie, who also helped livestream the event on YouTube for a greater reach.

The London Anime Union Halloween Party was a large scale collaborative event (with a turnout of 200+ in total) that took place in KCL Strand Campus's flagship venue, the Great Hall. It was co-hosted by KCL Vocaloid Society and 5 Anime Societies across London universities: KCL, UCL, Imperial College London, SOAS and City, University of London. The event consisted of society stalls with games, a quiz about anime/Japanese pop-culture, a cosplay catwalk, and a cosplay competition where prizes were awarded. A Chinese vlog was edited by the main photographer Gavin Xie after the event.

There was a photo booth at the event, where attendees (who were encouraged to come in cosplay) could have their pictures taken and printed by the main photographer. The Great Hall was decorated with Halloween-themed ornaments, as well as anime-style drawings/posters, in compliance with university regulations (as the venue was a heritage listed site). The event achieved a net profit of 246.9%, which was used to cover costs reimburse contributors.

Despite KCL Vocaloid Society being the newest member of London Anime Union, I immediately took on the role of the leader, managing a total of 30+ committee members involved. I was awarded Volunteer of the Month by KCLSU for overseeing the planning (including venue coordination) and onsite logistics of this event.

I presented how Vocaloid Society members volunteered to make cultural initiatives like this event happen at the KCLSU Volunteer Showcase (photo credit: KCLSU).

Hosted in Metric, Imperial College Union (with an outside area that was free to access), ICon: Imperial's Nerdiest Convention was a student-ran convention that featured a variety of games and activities, as well as performances, a cosplay catwalk, society stalls, and student vendor stalls. It saw a turnout of hundreds of students and members of the public.

As the Head of Social Media & Marketing, I was responsible for organising the event, designing the new event logo and promotional posters/visuals, promotion (including helping secure a booth at KCL Strand Campus), as well as participating on the day as the President of KCL Vocaloid Society.
